S.F. Indie Fest 2009 - 2/5 - 2/19

Last week I was watching a few screeners from the festival that is about to hit S.F. You will find details with dates and films here: www.sfindie.com

So, what do you really want to be sure to see? "I Sell The Dead." This film is absolute perfection. Here's what I wrote for the program guide:

Justice has finally caught up to grave robbers Arthur Blake and Willie Grimes. With a death sentence by guillotine coming up in hours, young Blake confides in clergyman Father Duffy, recounting fifteen years of adventure in “the trade.” His tale leads from his early days stealing from corpses, to a partnership with seasoned grave robber Willie Grimes. The colorful history of Grimes and Blake is one filled with high jinx, horror, and violent rivalries.

Ah, but there’s more to this sensational plot… There are zombies here and with all the hilarious madness we’ve all come to associate with the genre. “I Sell The Dead” is funny, it is also perfectly crafted and, pun intended, well executed. In a sentence? Edgar Allan Poe meets Night of The Living Dead.
